It’s not often, but once in a while I get a little
pang of ‘home-sickness’ for South
Africa. It’s not that I still consider it as being
home but there are just some things that you can’t replace. The smell of the air, the dry heat. O boy do I
miss the heat!
Right now it is spring and a very good friend sent me
a couple of pictures, (actually, I’m not so sure if she is such a good friend
at the moment) just to remind me of what my home town looks like at the moment.
For the record I have no idea who should get the
credit for these pictures but I hope they don’t mind me sharing them with you
all.
We actually lived on a street that would look like this in spring |
Those pictures are just GORGEOUS!!! I don't know about missing heat though. I'm a cold weather kind of gal - LOVING that it's getting cool here in Maryland :)
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous. Our purple flowers bloom here once a year.....always one of my favorites!
ReplyDeletegorgeous!!! I would miss the heat too. I hate the winters
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! How stunning! I bet you do get homesick this time of year. Trip went to South Africa once on business, and he fell in love with it!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is BEAUTIFUL!! And not what I'd picture when I think of South Africa! Learn something new every day... ;) I don't blame you for feeling homesick every now and then.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!!! Those trees!!! They look like they're straight out of a fairy tale! Do you know what they are?
ReplyDeletePretty sure pictures like this would make anyone homesick. They make me want to visit!
This is AMAZING! I've never seen anything like it! I love the aerial shot, showing purple streets.
ReplyDeleteI love those trees? What are they? I bet I could grow one here in California!
ReplyDeleteActually, I do mind. I make my living from taking photographs, and if everyone just used them for nothing, I wouldn't get to eat. You're welcome to continue to use my photo if you give me a photo credit and a link back to my web site, otherwise please remove it. The image URL is .
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my photo is not of South Africa - it's Grafton, a town in northern New South Wales, Australia. You can check that the image is mine by finding it on www.nickgleitzman.com/auspanorama
Thanks
