Yesterday's post

So this is the post I managed to type yesterday at work but never got around to posting ...

Today is one of those days .... you know the ones where you wish you could crawl back into bed and just not see or hear anything or anyone, or climb a tree and leave this world for a little while.  It's not anything particularly bad I'm just feeling super stressed at work, deadlines on top of deadlines, with not enough time to get around to everything. And trying to juggle our home/work/kid schedules and feeling like I'm failing miserably!

What might be adding to all of this is the fact that I only had 3 hours of sleep last night and have been drinking coffee all day to make up for it .... caffeine jitters anyone!

Our weekend was also a blur of activities, mostly consisting of ferrying the kids around. I did make it to the hairdresser but my hair did not quite turn out the way I wanted so I have to wait for 2 weeks before I can go back and fix the color. If it still does not look right I'm tempted to shave it all off again. I kid, I kid ... or am I? ...

We did have a lovely lunch with some friends yesterday and now Himself and Si are having a beard-off. They are going to grow their beards for the next 3 months and see who can grow the best/longest beard. Imagine Duck Dynasty. ... the loser will have the winners name tattooed, somewhere on their body.  Yeah I know it may seem a bit extreme but you have to admit that it is also a little bit funny, especially since we are convinced that Si's girlfriend is going to be begging him to shave before the end of the bet.

Himself and Si are going for the bearded look ... minus the long hair, at least I hope

As for why I only had 3 hours sleep last night, well, since we only have one car at the moment we have to share it. Usually this would not be a problem since Himself has his motorbike. Only problem is that the weather has gone to the dogs (it's been raining nearly none stop). So last night he had to be at work but Cat had to be at swimming so we had to go drop her off, then drive to the pub where I dropped him off, then back to swimming to pick Cat up. Fast forward a couple of hours and I had to go pick Himself up from the pub. I was so tired that I was really scared that I was not going to hear my phone when he rant to tell me to fetch him so I kept on dozing off and waking up every 15 min ... watched a bit of tv, dozed off and woke up again .... by 1:45 I gave up, and decided to just drive to the pub.  We got back home just after 3. Let me tell you, when the alarm sounded just after 6 this  morning I thought I was going to die!  We are going to have to look into getting a second car, and soon!  Going to have to do the same again tonight, Cat has swimming and Himself has to work ....

I finally replaced my iron this weekend so I'll be able to start working at reducing the mountain of ironing that has been piling up.

Right, let me get back to doing some work!

  2. omg Jo, I can see why you are so exhausted. That's nuts. I admit I am feeling the same this week. I am just hoping that the weekend comes fast and we don't have many plans so I plan on lots of home time.

I cannot wait to see how this beard thing ends up!!

  7. That sounds brutal! Sleep deprivation is no joke, trust me I know. Since he gets out at 3 and you don't have to be up until 6, can he just take the car to work and then be home before you have to leave? At least you'd get some uninterrupted sleep.

  9. That is a very dangerous bet they have going!

So I take it there aren't any buses he could take home after work? That would make things too easy, right? :o)
