New beginnings

New beginnings…… it really is what I want for this year. 2012 has been a tough year for my family, right up until the end.  I can honestly say that I’m very glad that we managed to survive it.

We had a bit of a scare just after Christmas when Himself had a severe allergic reaction (we are not 100% sure to what). At 2 in the morning he raced himself to the hospital, just making it there before passing out.  Meanwhile I was home stressing if he even made it to the hospital. I know, I know,  but when your husband is unable to breathe you can’t really take the time to argue with him about who should drive.  I can tell you I was very happy to get his ‘text’ saying that he made it. (it was something like this: 'ay hos')

Don’t worry, that is the worse of it.

Which is why I know it is not normal to be so pessimistic at the start of a new year and I probably shouldn’t be. I mean, there are many things to be thankful for, (Himself survived and is back up and over the worst of it) and I’m sure that there are thousands of people worse off.  I guess it’s just that 2012 very nearly kicked our butts.

So this year I have only two New Year’s resolutions:

  1. for us is to make it to 2014
  2. to lose some weight

How about you? How do you feel about what lies ahead in 2013?
Did you make any New Years resolutions?

  1. I love your resolutions. Especially #1. :o) I didn't make any this year - no desire to give myself anything else to stress out about. I'm doing enough of that as it is. ;o)

  2. I'm glad he's OK! Scary.

I want to continue to lose weight and get our family settled from the chaos that erupted in 2013. Working on it already!

  3. What a scary year end you had!

2012 was pretty craptastic for me as well, but I'm feeling all good things in 2013.

  6. Oh my gosh that is so scary! I am so glad to hear that he is okay now. I hope you guys can figure/find out what he was allergic to so that it doesn't happen again.
Love that you have two simple, but wonderful, resolutions!
