I blog, you blog, we all blog ...

Wednesday - ½ way there and of course as always I'm pretending to working but I'm actually linking up with Mamarazzi and Crazymama for their weekly:

Mamarazzi says: 'I have had my blog on my brain lately. It has changed so very much since my first post in 2007. I am also starting a new private blog to journal our adoption journey so I thought I would ask some blog inspired questions this week.'

I haven't been blogging for a year yet so I am by no means an expert but since its all about our blogs for this week's WWTK this is what I can tell you:

{1} Please describe your blog. Does it fall into one category or many? How has it changed from post one?

Honestly I don't think it falls into a category but since I'm a working mom and I blog about our life in here in Belgium, if anything I would say it is a: Working mom brain dump - kinda blog.

I was blogging for quite a while before I had any readers but I don't think my style has changed much.  Now that I have some followers out there I can't actually believe that there are people out there who will take the time to read it.  I get so excited about every new follower - thanks guys you are crazy to read it but I do appreciate every one of you!

{2} What 3 things do you LOVE about blogging?

1. 'meeting' other women. It seems that you have to be a blogger to get that you can be friends with someone even if you have never met.

2. I like knowing that one day when my kids are big they will be able to go back and read about the things they said and did. It's a virtual diary of our lives.

3.  Very few of my friends here in Belgium have kids. Reading other blogs is a way of being reminded that there are other women our there trying to do it all. It's a way of staying sane and connected.

{3} What 3 things do you DISLIKE about blogging?

1.  That I don't get paid to read blogs, it would be the perfect job for me!
2.  When I have nothing interesting to blog about.  There are so many bloggers out there who are funny and entertaining and I love reading their blogs. Then there is me ... with a pretty boring life. Then I have to remind myself that I'm not blogging to impress anyone, I'm blogging for myself.

3. When I can't take part in things because I'm an international blogger :( I do get it but it can be annoying!

{4} What 3 things do you WISH OTHER BLOGGERS would do? Any tips for them?

1. Comment - even if it is to say 'Hi'

2. I  know it's hard because some of you get loads of comments but it is so nice to get a reply to a comment that you left on someones blog. I know I love know that someone took the time to read my comment.

3. Word verification! Get rid of it!

{5} I know we all have lots of blogs we read, but what are 3 blogs you never miss?

I can't list only 3! I have a whole list of blogs that I try to really hard to read/check for new post every day or every other day.  So I'm going to give you my top 5 - go check them out!

How to survive life in the suburbs
Blue skies at Dixie Creek
Working on a  project
So much to say

  1. had to come over and say HI and i bet the international thing can be roug especially with giveaways and such.

  2. Thanks for the links to your favorite blogs. I will check them out this afternoon when I have time to enjoy! :D

Great answers, and wouldn't it be nice if we were paid to read blogs! i would be *rich*....Love that answer....

  3. My bloggy bff, Jo!! Of course you can be friends if you've never met and you're across the pond - you know, like us :) Thanks for putting me in your top 5! I'm going to check out your other most visited blogs, too, because if you like them, I probably will too!

I totally agree with so much you had to say - comment, comment, comment, and reply to comments! I think connecting with others is a big part of blogging for me!

  4. Hi!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

I like getting to know people too. It's fun to have lots of blogger friends :)

  5. I love the way you describe your blog! It really is hard to sum it all up in a few words isn't. Oh if only we could all get paid to read and comment on blogs what a great way to spend a couple hours a day:)

  6. Hi Jo!
Thanks so much for listing my blog as one of your favorites!!! I'm honored.

I could not agree more with alot of these. Especially the comment one. that bothers me when people don't!!! Can you imagine being paid to read blogs?!! I guess I'd be pretty successful with it : )

  7. I have to admit my blog's kind of a brain dump.

  8. I have a mom blog too :) Blogs are an online diary of sorts, huh! It is going to be so neat to look back in five years and see exactly what was going on in my head.
Reading other mom blogs has definitely helped me realize that I'm not the only one out there. It shows me that other women are having their own child 'struggles'.
I'm excited to go check out those other blogs!

  9. My blog is mom and me oriented. Being a female in a house of guys, I needed an outlet to other women. It was a way to stay sane in the beginning. Now it a way to feel connected to the friends I have made.

  10. It would be awesome to get paid to read!

  11. Whatever! Your blog is not boring!!! I love reading it!!! My international blogging friends are some of my favorite bloggers. But I totally never thought about how you wouldn't be able to participate in giveaways and swaps. That part stinks.

Okay..I'm super honored that you listed my blog as one of your favorites! Talk about a boring blog - I write about chickens for God's sake! :o)

  12. oooo - getting paid to read blogs! that's an awesome idea! hmmm - wonder who we should talk to about that! :)
great answers. thanks for stopping by mom-ology and leaving such a great comment!

  13. yes yes yes...get rid of word veri, major comment killer!!

thanks for linking up, love your blog!

  14. great answers to the questions! i totally agree on a word verification. it's the lamest.

i love connecting with other women that are in the same boat as me. it's nice to hear they struggle or relate to what i'm saying. if i stop by i always comment.

  15. I am loving reading other bloggers thoughts on this whole blogging thing! very interesting to me! I have meet and enjoyed blogging friendships too and also do not like word verification!!
I am your newest follower...pls follow back if you can.

  16. I would hate not being able to participate in swaps! I wonder if you could work something out with Mamarazzi?? :)

I'm seeing a theme with these answers about the Pressures of blogging...hmmm?

  17. Nice to "meet" you! I blog a lot in the same way...just kinda rambling about my life. I always did it that way and--like you--I was shocked that other people were actually interested in reading what I felt was my boring life. :) I am still trying to get back into the swing of things after taking a hiatus. But...these are the kinds of things I miss...meeting other awesome women!

  18. I love the thought that my kids will read this one day... how fun will it be when they are older & I can bring it up for blackmail. LOL.

Oooohhh I wanna get paid to read blogs too. If you figure out how to get that job, please hook me up too!

I agree, if you give a comment you should certainly get one back. I try so hard to do that even if I don't have enough time to post myself. I used to be soooo much better about blog hopping & commenting galore. Sadly though my girls don't nap anymore so that good 2 hour chunk I used to use for blogging is now spent doing other stuff.

  19. bog reading as a career, now I am in for that, where do I sign up??? I agree I am 'met' some great friends. I too feel that some of my stuff is not very interesting, but at the very least I know my mom reads it, lol
